French Montana Says Drake Isn’t Taking Shots at Joe Budden on “No Shopping”

After French Montana and Drake released a new track called “No Shopping.” During Drake’s verse, he seems to take shots at Joe Budden by referencing “Pump It Up.” Very soon after that track was released, Budden came back with his latest diss track aimed at Drake, “Afraid.” In a new interview with MTV News, French was asked about if Drake’s lines in the song were aimed at Budden. Initially, he laughed and said, “I don’t have nothing to do with that one.” Then, he clarified that Budden wasn’t a factor in the song’s creation. “I don’t think we did that record thinking about Joe Budden,” he said. “No, I don’t think—I know that for a fact.” Watch the interview below.

Budden reviewed Drake’s VIEWS, saying Drake sounded “real fuckin’ uninspired.” A week later, French Montana shared the “No Shopping” clip that prompted Budden’s responses. Thus far, Budden has released “Wake,” “Making a Murderer (Part 1),” and “Afraid.” Read Pitchfork’s full interview with Budden about “Making a Murderer (Part 1).”
