Funkadelic and Soul Clap Share Claymation Video for Sly Stone Collab "In Da Kar"

In May 2013, Boston DJ/production duo Soul Clap went into the studio with Parliament/Funkadelic legend George Clinton. They ended up recording several tracks, including “In Da Kar”, which features a rare Sly Stone cameo on keys.

The video for “In Da Kar” was directed by Gabe Munitz-Alessio, with animation by Hillary Barton. It blends footage of Soul Clap cruising in a convertible with claymation skits depicting the horrors of oil consumption. At the end, Soul Clap pull over and ask a mysterious figure in a hat for directions to the gas station. Turns out it’s George Clinton, rendered in clay, who points them towards a scene of fiery armageddon. Watch the video below, via Pitchfork.tv.
