Gorillaz Heading Into the Studio

This January, Jamie Hewlett posted new artwork featuring Gorillaz, the animated band helmed by himself and Damon Albarn, to his Instagram. When fans speculated that the group were plotting a follow-up to 2011′s The Fall, Hewlett responded, “Yes Gorillaz Returns”. Now, it looks like they’re finally ready to hit the studio. 

Speaking on Australian television program ABC 7.30, Albarn said, “I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record. I’ve just been really, really busy so I haven’t had a chance. I’d love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”
