Governor Declares Beyoncé Day in Minnesota

May 23 is now “Beyoncé Day” in Minnesota, governor Mark Dayton declared yesterday, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Citing her influence on “many young girls and women with powerful, positive messages in her songs,” Dayton made the announcement ahead of the singer’s TCF Bank Stadium show. (The show was later delayed for 45 minutes by a sudden lightning storm, causing the temporary evacuation of the venue.) See the official proclamation below.
