Grammys 2017: Adele Wins Song of the Year

Adele has won Song of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. “Hello” picked up the victory over songs by Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Mike Posner, and Lukas Graham. During her speech, she thanked producer Greg Kurstin. As Kurstin went to give a speech of his own, he was cut off. The audience began booing as the camera shifted to Solange, who introduced A Tribe Called Quest’s performance. It was an uncomfortable moment in a night of mic problems and abrupt endings.

Tonight, Adele was also nominated for Album of the Year and Record of the Year. She also won Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. Earlier in the show, she performed “Hello” and returned to sing George Michael’s “Fastlove” in a tribute to the late pop icon. Adele stopped the performance early, apologizing to the audience before going back to the beginning of the song. During her speech accepting the Song of the Year award, she apologized again.
