Gucci Mane Released From Prison

Gucci Mane, aka Radric Davis, has been released from prison four months early, TMZ reports. His lawyer, Drew Findling, said he got out early Thursday morning. He had been in prison since September 2013, according to TMZ, and was released early after receiving credit for prior time served. Findling said he’ll be on house arrest, followed by probation. Pitchfork has reached out for comment from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the federal penitentiary in Indiana where Gucci Mane was being held. Update (05/26 9:37 p.m. ET): A representative from the Federal Bureau of Prisons has informed Pitchfork that Gucci Mane’s official projected release date remains September 20, 2016. Even in prison, Gucci remained a prolific rapper, releasing projects such as 2015′s King Gucci. Unsurprisingly, TMZ quotes sources saying he plans to start recording again. 1017 Records, the label he founded, tweeted:

Guwop is in our studio 1 hour after his released
