Head Wound City (Yeah Yeah Yeahs/Blood Brothers/ the Locust) Announce New Album, Share "Scraper"

Back in 2014, Head Wound City — the mid-00s supergroup featuring Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Nick Zinner, the Blood Brothers‘ Jordan Blilie and Cody Votolato, and the Locust‘s Justin Pearson and Gabe Serbian — briefly reunited for a pair of shows. Then, in early 2015, they reissued their self-titled EP and said they were “optimistic about creating new material in the future.” That material is coming soon. New LP A New Wave of Violence is out May 13 on Vice. Listen to new track “Scraper” above and check out their tour dates below.

The album, produced by Ross Robinson, was written over the course of a week in January 2015. It’s named after a 1982 Raymond Pettibon zine. “More depth, less irony,” the band said of the record’s purpose in a press release. “Eliminate irony altogether. Grow up and get rid of it.”
