Hudson Mohawke Confirms Frank Ocean and James Blake Collaborations

Hudson Mohawke has confirmed that he’s worked on music with James Blake and Frank Ocean. This morning, a fan tweeted at him, “Need a [Hudson Mohawke] and [James Blake] project.” He responded, “We demo’d a few as well as Frank O n myself but I can’t get into anymore trouble for leaks.” He then clarified, “None of this music is confirmed as ever seeing the light of day n im not gona leak anything.” See the tweets below.

Last December, a HudMo beat collection called frank o0000oocean showed up on Reddit. After the file’s removal, the producer confirmed they were “some roughs [he] demo’d w a few ppl a year or 2 back.” He never affirmed or denied that the beats in that collection were really meant for Frank Ocean, but today’s tweet suggests they very likely could have been.

This past March, HudMo said Kanye West and Drake hadn’t paid him for beats. He threatened to leak the unreleased collaborations, but said that his “wonderful friends and family” had talked him out of doing so. The second part of his tweet (“but I can’t get into anymore trouble for leaks”) is a likely allusion to the incident.
