Introducing the Pitchfork Music Festival Voter Engagement and Mobilization Project

Pitchfork Music Festival has announced a new platform to support voter registration and engagement. The Pitchfork Music Festival Voter Engagement and Mobilization Project will help fund the Public Action Foundation‘s non-partisan effort to register voters in the Chicago area from traditionally underrepresented communities. PAF will be on-site at Union Park from July 15-17 during the festival to coordinate voter registration activities, and ticket buyers will be given the option to allocate $5 of their ticket cost to the voter program.

“Charitable partnerships like this are one way we show our commitment to our community here in Chicago, to help our audience raise awareness and action,” Pitchfork President Chris Kaskie said. “With this being an election year that the world is following closely and feeling strongly about, we wanted to find a way to get people involved. Through this program, not only will our readers and festival goers have new tools for engagement, but we can give an extra boost to folks doing good work on the ground here in Chicago.”

“We are excited to have the support of the Pitchfork Music Festival for our civic engagement program,” Lynda De La Forgue of the Public Action Foundation said. “Just as Pitchfork brings together people from all walks of life united by music, we believe our democracy is healthier and our nation is stronger when we come together in the voting booth, too.”

Tickets for the 2016 Pitchfork Music Festival are on sale now. Three-day passes are available for $165 and single day passes are available for $65.
