James Blake to Hudson Mohawke: “Thank God We’ve Never Worked Together”

James Blake has responded to Hudson Mohawke’s recent clarification on his claims that the two had worked together. “Ah, for goodness sake,” the note reads. “Yes, I listened to them and politely declined. Two years later, you’re alluding to the idea we’ve collaborated to the point where you have something you can leak…? Leak what you have—you’d just be leaking one of your own beats with no vocals or input from me. Thank god we’ve never worked together because I wouldn’t be able to trust you with my music. Going forward, if you continue to threaten to leak music or even suggest your ability to do so, soon no one else will trust you with their music either. Once again… baffled.” See the note below via Twitter. HudMo has since responded, saying, “This is blown way out of proportion now. 140 characters taken out of context.” See that below as well.

After Mohawke first said he demoed songs with Blake, Blake responded by tweeting, “As talented as I think he is, I’ve never worked with Hudson Mohawke and don’t know what he’s talking about. I’m respectfully baffled.”
