Jamila Woods and Chance Want Chicago Public School Students to Make Their Video

One lucky Chicago Public Schools student will get the chance to direct Jamila Woods and Chance the Rapper’s new video. The artists, in collaboration with Jagjaguwar, Closed Sessions and VAM Studio, are offering CPS students the opportunity to submit video treatments for the pair’s HEAVN cut “LSD.” The winning treatment will become a full production. Chance announced the contest in a tweet. “The winning student will shadow the directors and production crew on the set for the day,” the post reads. “Other submitting students who show promise in the competition will be paired with a film set department head to shadow on set.” Students can send PDF treatments to submit@vamstudio.net by June 2. The “LSD” video will be co-directed by Sam Bailey.

This is just the latest attempt at local outreach in the Chicago area for Chance. He donated $1 million to CPS in March and later announced that $2.2 million had been raised in the weeks following his initial press conference. He also announced the New Chance Arts and Literature Fund, which he said “will bring arts programs and materials to schools.”
