Jarvis Cocker and Chilly Gonzales Join for New Album Room 29, Share New Songs: Listen

Jarvis Cocker and Chilly Gonzales have joined forces for a new album, Room 29. It’s out March 17 via Deutsche Grammophon. Renaud Letang recorded Room 29 at Paris’ Feber Studios. It features contributions from flautist Nathalie Hauptman, French horn player Hasko Kroeger, singer Maud Techa, and film historian David Thomson. Below, listen to the album’s “Tearjerker” and “The Tearjerker Returns,” and scroll down for an album teaser and the full tracklist.

In March, the two will perform a series of “Room 29” shows. Three performances are scheduled for Hamburg’s Kampnagel (March 17-19), with three more at London’s Barbican (March 23-25), and another three at Berlin’s Volksbühne (March 28-30). The concerts—based on Thomson’s writings—will tell the stories of Jean Harlow, Howard Hughes, and other famous figures.
