Jarvis Cocker, the National’s Matt Berninger, Savages’ Jehnny Beth Contribute to "Requiem for 114 Radios” Project

Jarvis CockerMatt Berninger (The National), and Savages‘ Jehnny Beth are a part of a project called “Requiem for 114 Radios” from Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, the directors behind the Nick Cave documentary 20,000 Days on EarthIt’s an exhibit and installation where a chorus of voices are played on 114 FM radios. The chorus will perform a new version of Dies Irae from the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass. The performance is open to the public May 13 in the cellars of Bristol’s Colston Hall as part of the Bristol New Music weekend. The full lineup includes Casper Clausen (Efterklang/Liima), Jimi Goodwin (Doves), Rachel Goswell (Slowdive, Minor Victories) Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets), Joe McAlinden (Linden, formerly Superstar/BMX Bandits), Aimee Nash (The Black Ryder), Conrad Standish (The Devastations), Jonnine Standish (HTRK), Elena Tonra (Daughter) and Rachel Zeffira (Cat’s Eyes). Jarvis Cocker previously worked with Forsyth and Pollard on the soundtrack for a TV series based on Neil Gaiman’s short stories called “Likely Stories.” Find more information here.
