Jay Reatard's Band Angry Angles' Complete Recordings Compiled

In 2005, Jay Reatard and Alix Brown started a band called Angry Angles. The band’s rotating lineup also featured Destruction Unit‘s Ryan Rousseau. They released a handful of singles, but before they could complete their album, Reatard and Brown’s relationship fizzled. The band broke up, and soon after, Jay released his debut solo album, Blood Visions

On May 20, Goner will release the complete recorded works of Angry Angles, including some unreleased material. Listen to the unreleased version of “Things Are Moving” above.

Other unreleased tracks include a cover of the Oblivians’ “Memphis Creep” and three tracks from a shelved Toronto session: “Can’t Do It Anymore,” “All the Same,” and “Set in Stone.” There are also covers of Wire’s “The 15th,” Devo’s “Blockhead,” and the Urinals’ “Black Hole.”

Read our Jay Reatard “In Memorium” feature from 2011, featuring interviews with Brown and more.
