Jeezy Has Weapons Charges Dismissed

In August, Jeezy was arrested after a shooting at a Wiz Khalifa concert and charged with felony possession of an illegal weapon. Now, those charges have been dropped, as TMZ reports.

Here’s how it goes: Jeezy and five others were initially arrested after police searched the rapper’s tour bus and found an AK-47 and a Glock. However, the AK-47 was legally purchased by Jeezy’s security chief—who, at the time, wasn’t on the bus because he’d been shot the night before in an incident involving Suge Knight.

Though Jeezy and the others were charged with the felony and held on $1 million bail, a DNA test eventually proved they hadn’t touched the weapon. TMZ points out that bail in similar cases is usually set at $20,000, and that four days passed before the bail was appropriately lowered. They also say the cops had inspected the guns on the night of the shooting at the Wiz Khalifa concert, and determined they weren’t used.

“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence,” Jeezy told TMZ. “I knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts. I’m relieved that the truth has prevailed.”
