Joe Biden Speaking at SXSW 2017

SXSW has unveiled their latest high-profile speaker: former vice president Joe Biden. Biden will be delivering a talk on the progress made with the White House Cancer Moonshot under his leadership during the Obama administration, as well as other solutions to fight cancer in the future. (Biden’s son Beau suffered from brain cancer in the final years of his life and died in 2015.) He will also unveil plans for a Biden cancer initiative, “calling on attendees at SXSW to join him in taking on the disease,” according to a press release. Biden will speak at the Austin Convention Center on March 12 at 3:30; the talk is open to all registered SXSW attendees. Other speakers at the festival include FBI Director James Comey, Kyle MacLachlan (aka Special Agent Dale Cooper of “Twin Peaks”), Krist Novoselic, Kesha, Bob Odenkirk, and more.
