John Coltrane, Metallica, the Supremes, More Inducted to Library of Congress

The National Recording Registry has announced a new batch of inductees to the Library of Congress, as Billboard points out. Albums by John Coltrane (A Love Supreme), Metallica (Master of Puppets), Buffy Sainte-Marie (It’s My Way), George Carlin (Class Clown), and more are among the 25 additions, as well as songs by the Supremes (“Where Did Our Love Go?”), Louie Armstrong (for his version of Kurt Weill’s “Mack the Knife”), Gloria Gaynor (“I Will Survive”), Merle Haggard (“Mama Died”), Blind Willie McTell (“Statesboro Blues”), the Impressions (“People Get Read”), and Billy Joel (“Piano Man”).
