Johnny Jewel Scores Belgian Film Home

Johnny Jewel has scored the upcoming Belgian film Home, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 4. Directed by Fien Troch, it tells the story of teenagers’ relationship with each other, as well as the adult world. Watch a teaser for it, and check out the movie poster below.

In addition to Jewel’s score, Home features unreleased Chromatics and Symmetry music, including Symmetry’s version of “The Magician.” (Mike Simonetti’s “The Magician” was on the 2013 Italians Do It Better compilation After Dark 2 in 2013.) Upon the movie’s theatrical release, Home’s soundtrack will be released via Italians Do It Better.

Home will premiere in North America at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Platform competition. TIFF takes place September 8-18. Among other films, the Mica Levi-scored Jackie Kennedy biopic will also compete in Platform.

Johnny Jewel’s work on Home follows his 2015 score for Lost River–Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut. He also scored Nicolas Winding Refn’s 2008 film Bronson, and contributed to the director’s Drive, although he did not score. He has also done music for the A&E show “Those Who Kill.”
