Kamasi Washington Announces New EP Harmony of Difference, Shares New Video: Watch

Kamasi Washington has announced a new EP, Harmony of Difference. The six-movement suite, which premiered at this year’s Whitney’s Biennial, is due this summer via Young Turks. Washington has also shared a music video for “Truth,” the final movement from the EP. The 14-minute clip was directed by A.G. Rojas and features abstract visuals along with footage of people wrestling, kissing, crying, and dancing. Watch it below. In a statement about the EP, Washington says, “My hope is that witnessing the beautiful harmony created by merging different musical melodies will help people realize the beauty in our own difference.” His last release was 2015’s excellent triple-album, The Epic. On June 8, Kamasi Washington will perform at this year’s Northside Festival in Brooklyn.
