Kanye West Cuts Meadows Fest Set Short Due to “Family Emergency”

Kanye West cut short his headlining performance at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York City tonight, telling the crowd, “I’m sorry, there’s a family emergency, I have to stop the show,” before leaving the stage. According to concertgoers, Kanye was performing “Heartless” before he was pulled to the side by someone off-stage. He then gave his brief statement and abruptly exited. Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for Kanye and the Meadows Festival for comment.

Kanye’s last booked festival performance in New York, a headlining set at Governor’s Ball, was cancelled due to inclement weather. Governor’s Ball and the Meadows are organized by the same company, Founders Entertainment
