In the summer of 2013, Kanye West was charged with misdemeanors of criminal battery and attempted grand theft after allegedly attacking a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport. He pled not guilty, was sentenced to two years probation, and gave an entirely entertaining deposition. The civil lawsuit filed by the photographer has now been settled, TMZ reports.

The terms of the settlement are unknown, but it involved an apology. West and the photographer, Daniel Ramos, were photographed shaking hands.

Ramos’ attorney Gloria Allred said, “We believe that this case sent an important message. Celebrities are not above the law, and they have no right to physically attack someone simply because they were asked a question.”
