"Key & Peele" Sketch Explains Why OutKast Haven't Made Another Record

Despite playing a handful of reunion shows, OutKast haven’t made a record since 2006′s Idlewild. A “Key & Peele” sketch from last night’s episode theorizes why that’s so: because Andre 3000 is just too weird.

In the sketch, Big Boi (played by Jordan Peele) and Andre (played by Keegan-Michael Key) run into each other at a coffee shop. Big Boi tries to have a normal conversation, but Andre, who’s dressed like Peter Pan, insists on derailing everything. “I got a new idea for an album, man,” he says. “It’s gonna be just the sound of screeching metal, and then only one spoken word per track.” Check it out below, via Consequence of Sound.
