Kim Gordon’s Lana Del Rey "Off Herself" Line Removed From Memoir

Kim Gordon‘s memoir, Girl in a Band, is out today. Last week, we reported about an excerpt from the pre-release galley of the book that took explicit aim at Lana Del Rey. In it, Gordon wrote, “If she really truly believes it’s beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, why doesn’t she just off herself?”

However, the published book contains a different version of that line. It says, “Does she truly believe it’s beautiful when young musicians go out on a hot flame of drugs and depression, or is it just her persona?”

Pitchfork has reached out to the book’s publisher, HarperCollins, for comment.
