This afternoon, reports have been circulating saying that an LCD Soundsystem reunion is in the works for next year. Unfortunately, these reports aren’t true. DFA co-founder Jonathan Galkin has confirmed to Pitchfork that the rumors that James Murphy is getting the band back together to hit music festivals in 2016 are unfounded.

Galkin provided this quote, which promotes DFA’s other artists:

DFA Records, co-owned by James Murphy, just released 2 amazing new LPs this fall – one by Larry Gus entitled “I Need New Eyes” and one by Slim Twig entitled “Thank You For Stickin’ With Twig”. These are both of their 2nd albums for the label. Catch both acts on tour (separately) in the USA this October.

LCD Soundsystem called it quits after a triumphant Madison Square Garden show in 2011. Since then, Murphy has been adamant that a reunion isn’t in the cards.
