Led Zeppelin Share Alternate Mix of "The Rain Song"

Led Zeppelin‘s campaign of releasing deluxe, remastered versions of their albums will continue on October 27 when Atlantic/Swan Song puts out reissues of 1971′s Led Zeppelin IV and 1973′s Houses of the Holy. The reissues will include several bonus tracks. Listen to an alternate version of “The Rain Song”, from Houses of the Holy, below.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page remastered the albums. He talked about “The Rain Song (Mix Minus Piano)” in a statement:

“The Rain Song” is the sort of piece of music that Led Zeppelin could approach and do so successfully and so masterfully. This whole genre of the sensitivity, where it can sort of caress you, it’s something that I’ve always been very proud of. The companion disc version is really a good blend of everything that’s actually being played.

The reissues will be available in a variety of formats: CD, deluxe edition CD, vinyl, deluxe edition vinyl, digital download, and a box set that includes all of the above along with a coffee table book filled with Zeppelin ephemera and a print of the cover art.
