Lee "Scratch" Perry Documentary Gets DVD Release

Last year, the documentary Lee Scratch Perry’s Visions of Paradise premiered and screened around the world. While it’s still screening this year, the Volker Schaner-directed film about the dub pioneer will become available on DVD/digitally via Cadiz Music on April 8.

The film was shot over 15 years in Jamaica, Ethiopia, Switzerland, and England. It features animated scenes by Maria Sargarodschi.

The DVD comes with with a photo gallery of Lee’s Secret Laboratory studio, which was recently destroyed in a fire. There’s also a behind-the-scenes documentary, director’s commentary, unreleased footage, and a 24-page book. It will be available via iTunes, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and on the film’s website.
