Lil B Writes Open Letter to Kevin Durant, Still Wants to Play One-on-One

Two weeks ago, Lil B lifted his famous curse on Kevin Durant when the NBA star announced that he was joining the Golden State Warriors–the BasedGod’s hometown team. He tweeted, “‘The BasedGod’ wants to speak,As life unravels and superstars make decisions that change lifes, welcome home KD the curse is lifted.” Now, Lil B has elaborated further on his decision in an open letter to Kevin Durant on the Undefeated (as HotNewHipHop points out). He states plainly, “The curse had to be removed for the simple fact that Kevin Durant has shown his humility by coming to the Warriors.” He also encouraged Durant to engage with the community (“Have fun. Listen to the music. Get a feel of everybody around. Different places. Feel the welcome.”)

Quite notably, Lil B maintained that he wants to face Durant in a one-on-one game. Durant famously ignored B’s requests for a matchup, which led to B’s timeless diss track “Fuck KD.” In the letter, the BasedGod said the one-on-one game is “for the love of the sport. The world wants to see it — hundreds of thousands, millions of people. They want to know what would happen with this game. They’re obviously interested.” He also compared his skill set to Russell Westbrook’s (Durant’s former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate), and touted his defensive ability.
