Listen to Chance the Rapper’s Demos for Kanye’s “Waves” and “Famous”

This afternoon, Chance the Rapper was interviewed on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show. During the interview, Chance shared his demos from Kanye West‘s The Life of Pablo, which he contributed heavily to. Below, chime in at 20:45 to hear his demo for Kanye’s “Waves,” and 22:40 to hear his demo for “Famous” (which was originally titled “Nina Chop”). Elsewhere in the conversation, he talked about collaborating with Kanye, his decision to remain unsigned (and turn down a deal from Kanye), his affection for the mixtape format (he teased a potential mixtape with Jay Electronica), his relationship with God, his time spent living in Los Angeles, and much more. He also said he recorded three songs with Big Sean, Jeremih, and J. Cole for Coloring Book, but they were “stopped.” Several additional collaborations with Jeremih were also left off the record.
