Listen to St. Vincent Play “The Star-Spangled Banner” for NFL Commercial
The NFL has been airing an ad throughout the Olympics called “Football Is Family,” as Stereogum points out. It features a rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by none other than Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent). Now, Clark has appeared in a new video to discuss her rendition, as well as her love of the Dallas Cowboys, whom she dreamt of playing for as a kid. She also performs the National Anthem in the video. Watch the behind-the-scenes doc, as well as the NFL ad below.
St. Vincent’s National Anthem cover follows a July cover of the “Golden Girls” theme. Earlier this month, she covered Karen Dalton’s “Something on Your Mind” for Disney’s Pete’s Dragon remake.
