Listen to the Avalanches’ “Subways”

The Avalanches’ return, thus far, has offered the promise of their long-awaited new album Wildflower (out July 8), plus “Colours” featuring Mercury Rev’s Jonathan Donahue and “Frankie Sinatra” featuring Danny Brown and MF DOOM. Before those two songs or the album announcement came along, they teased their new song “Subways.” Tonight, they’ve shared the entire track. The song is accompanied by illustrations by Emi Ueoka. The song samples Chandra’s “Subways” and Graham Bonnet’s version of the Bee Gees’ “Warm Ride.” Listen and check out the single’s artwork below.

In addition to Donahue, Brown, and DOOM, the new album features Father John Misty, Toro Y Moi, Silver Jews’ David Berman, Jennifer Herrema of Royal Trux, Camp Lo, Biz Markie, and Warren Ellis.
