London Club Fabric to Close for Weekend Following Deaths

Respected London nightclub Fabric is closing its doors for the weekend following the deaths of two 18-year-old concertgoers due to drug overdoses over the past nine weeks, as Resident Advisor reports. The club announced the closing on their website. “In order to understand how this has happened we have agreed with the police and other agencies to suspend our operation whilst we investigate,” the statement reads. According to the statement, the two deaths mark the first time in two years that the club has had an incident.

Fabric, which opened in 1999, has served as an epicenter for the electronic dance music scene in London. The club reportedly faced closure in 2014, when drug overdoses pushed local government to have them implement extra security measures.
