Lykke Li Takes Break, Cancels International Festival Appearances

Over the past several months, Lykke Li has been on the road supporting her new album I Never Learn (a trek which notably saw the singer covering Drake). That tour was originally scheduled to continue into the new year with appearances at the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Unfortunately, as of this morning, that is no longer the case: the Swedish chanteuse has announced that she’s pulling out of the festival and taking a break.

Lykke Li took to her Instagram account this morning to break the news, saying, that “after 7 years of touring, my health is screaming/begging for me to listen/heal/slow down”. Fear not, fans: she plans to return once she’s well rested.

Here’s Lykke Li’s message announcing the break, posted to Instagram:

I am utterfly devestated, sometimes we push and push but the body simply won’t follow. I gave it all I had, my body, heart, and soul. After 7 years of touring my health is screaming/begging for me to listen/heal/slow down. Thank you so much for understanding. Thank you for listening to my bleeding heart and watching me dance in the dark these past years. I love you. I will come back. Stronger. But for now my loves, I have to rest. U can’t always “win” …. Take care of yourselves!!! You mean the world to me.
