Mac DeMarco Covers James Taylor's "I Was a Fool to Care" in Bizarre Video: Watch

Mac DeMarco has teamed up with his touring keyboardist Jon Lent to cover James Taylor’s “I Was A Fool to Care.” Their interpretation is presented in tandem with a bizarre, lo-fi music video that centers around a guy in a gimp mask who strolls around the wilderness clutching a photograph of Taylor. Throughout the video, he pauses to touch and stare at the image. At the end of the clip, the gentleman lifts his mask to watch a bit of “Deep Space Homer,” a “Simpsons” episode featuring a cameo from the singer-songwriter. The YouTube synopsis offers the following summary: “Every now and then a doggie needs his sweet baby James.” (The description also reads, “RIP Prince.”) Watch the new video below, and hear the original. DeMarco is currently working on the follow-up to last year’s mini-album Another One. Last week, he shared a previously-unheard demo, “Rollin Like a Dummy.”
