Mark Fisher, Music Writer and Cultural Theorist, Dead at 48

Mark Fisher, the cultural theorist and music writer also known as k-punk, has died. He was 48. His publisher Repeater Books confirmed the news on Twitter. Fisher wrote multiple books and kept up his influential k-punk blog since 2003. His writing appeared in publications including The Wire, FACT, and The Guardian. His 2014 book Ghosts of My Life: Writings on Depression, Hauntology and Lost Futures included writing about Burial, Joy Division, and more. In 2009, he was the editor behind the essay collection The Resistable Demise of Michael Jackson. His latest book The Weird and the Eerie was just released.
