Matmos Announce New Album Made From Washing Machine Sounds, Share Excerpt

Veteran electronic experimentalist duo Matmos are back with a new album, and it’s composed entirely of washing machine sounds. Ultimate Care II, out February 19 on Thrill Jockey, features guests Dan Deacon, Half Japanese’s Jason Willett, and members of Horse Lords and Needle Gun, along with the sounds of a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washing machine, recorded in their basement. The record is one long track, from which you can hear the above excerpt.
According to a press release, the band “will attempt to stage the work in select U.S. cities” next year.
