Melvins Announce New Double Album A Walk With Love and Death

Melvins have announced a new double album, A Walk With Love and Death, out July 7 via Ipecac Recordings. Watch the trailer below. The project combines the score for a short film of the same name that the band produced, Love, with a full LP, Death. “This was a huge undertaking,” frontman Buzz Osborne said in a statement. “All three things: the album, the soundtrack and the film are benchmarks for us.” Melvins last released Basses Loaded in 2016. They self-produced A Walk With Love and Death with engineer Toshi Kosai. It features Teri Gender Bender (Le Butcherettes), who worked with Osborne and drummer Dave Crover for supergroup Crystal Fairy, as well as The Pixies’ Joey Santiago, and That Dog’s Anna Waronker. The film was directed by Jesse Nieminen.

A Walk With Love and Death is one giant, dark, moody, psychotic head trip!” Crover said in a statement. “Not for the faint of heart. You’ll sleep with the lights on after listening.”
