Michael J. Fox Joins Coldplay to Play Back to the Future Songs: Watch

Coldplay are currently on tour behind their latest album A Head Full of Dreams. Over the weekend, they played a pair of shows at New Jersey‘s MetLife Stadium. During one of the concerts, Chris Martin showed a video clip of his son Moses requesting that his dad’s band play a song from “both of [their] favorite movie Back to the Future.” Martin obliged, performing the Penguins’ “Earth Angel” and Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” both featured in the film’s iconic Enchantment Under the Sea high school dance scene. They had a very special guest for the covers: Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox, who played guitar; Martin called Fox his and his son’s “hero.” Watch the performance, as well as clips from the film, below (via Billboard).

Chris Martin and Michael J. Fox have performed together in the past. Martin played at the Michael J. Fox Foundation’s 2013 gala. The two did “Johnny B. Goode” and Coldplay’s “Yellow.”
