Modest Mouse Tease New Music With Mysterious Instagram Post

Modest Mouse have launched their official Instagram page by posting the above image, a vinyl disc labeled “Lampshades on Fire”. If this is indeed a new recording from the group, this would be their first new music since 2009′s No One’s First and You’re Next. Modest Mouse have been playing a song believed to be called “Lampshades on Fire” since 2011. (Listen to it below.)

Modest Mouse’s next album has been in the works for years. Big Boi and Krist Novoselic have reportedly contributed. They have been playing new songs on the road, and even canceled a tour in 2013 to finish their album. Recently, the band reissued This Is a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About and The Lonesome Crowded West.
