Morrissey Says He’s Received Cancer Treatments
Morrissey has received a series of cancer treatments, he revealed in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo (via The Guardian). “They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever,” he said. “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
He said that his doctors had recommended he stop touring, “but it’s difficult for me because it’s very ingrained within me.”
Morrissey has suffered multiple health-related problems in recent years.
In other Morrissey news, at his European tour kickoff last night in Lisbon, his band wore T-shirts that read, “Fuck Harvest.” This was in reference to the feud Moz is in with his former label, Harvest/Capitol.
He’s also working on a novel, which he’s looking to publish in 2015.
