“Danny’s Song” was written by Kenny Loggins and first released in 1971 by Loggins & Messina. In 1972, Anne Murray’s version became a huge hit. The latest version is sung by Neko Case, whose rendition is featured on this week’s episode of HBO’s “Vinyl.” Listen below.

The track appears on the latest installment of the show’s soundtrack (Volume 1.3), which also features tracks by Andrew W.K., Nate Ruess, Milk Carton Kids, and the fictional band Nasty Bits, fronted by Mick Jagger’s son James Jagger. Find the tracklist below. As previously reported, other artists who are contributing to the show’s ongoing soundtrack include Julian Casablancas, Iggy Pop, Charli XCX, the Arcs, and Chris Cornell. Below, listen to Casablancas’ cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Run Run Run,” from last week’s episode.

“Vinyl” is executive produced by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Terence Winter (“Boardwalk Empire,” “The Sopranos.”)
