Nicholas Allbrook (Tame Impala / Pond) Shares "A Fool There Was" Video: Watch

Pond frontman and former Tame Impala member Nicholas Allbrook has shared the video for his song “A Fool There Was.” In the video, Allbrook pays homage to the video for “Osez Josephine” by Alain Bashung. Watch the new video below. His new solo LP Pure Gardiya is slated for release later this month via Spinning Top

Allbrook also shared a statement about the song:

When I was walking along the Bibbulmun track between Dwellingup and Pemberton I decided to make a cheap Australian DIY homage to Osez Josephine, by Alain Bashung, probably the best video clip ever (well, RELLA…)

I’d just get a friend to replace the white stallion, cars as spotlights, Eva could play guitar in the middle etc. and make a hilarious dodgy rip-off on the cheap. Then, as always, Matt Sav floated in like a majestic pelican to make it all actually truly beautiful.
My dearest closest bestest friends helped make it happen. Peter Bibby drove the camera dolly (Long-Paul Van Dayum, the infamous vehicle that tried and failed to kill off one of Australia’s biggest boys and naughtiest song-men) Tayo Snowball suffered a night of semi-clad discomfort painted all white, because he’s got the bossest locks and a bricklayers herculean frame (for some titillation, ya know? gotta get them views ppl, its all about the views).
Eva Niollet stood with me in the middle, being too-much-sexy and making me laugh and drinking Emu Export.
Also, thanks all you lovely people who sat on their cars drinking cheap piss and watching this bizarre confused circus acted out in a car park in Lathlain.
