Nicolas Jaar Soundtracks 1969 Soviet Avant-Garde Film The Color of Pomegranates

This Oscars Sunday brings a surprise from Nicolas Jaar, recently of Darkside. The musician’s composed an alternate soundtrack for The Color of Pomegranates, the 1969 avant-garde Soviet film directed by Sergei Parajanov that details the life of a bard, or ashik. Jaar shared the soundtrack on his label Other People‘s YouTube channel; Stereogum later reported the news.
