Operators Perform "True" and "Cold Light" at Pitchfork Nightcap in Portland

This summer, Pitchfork launched Nightcap, a series of late night shows across the United States. On August 16, Nightcap headed to Portland, Oregon for a show at Doug Fir Lounge featuring Future Islands and Operators, the new band from Wolf Parade/Handsome Furs/Divine Fits member Dan BoecknerIt was an official aftershow for MusicFestNW.

Pitchfork.tv filmed the show. Below, watch Operators do “True” and “Cold Light”, as well as sit down for an interview. They chat about the formation of the band, how they want people to dance at their shows, and describe their music as sounding like it belongs at the end of a John Hughes movie.

On October 4, Pitchfork Nightcap will host Cults and Radioactivity at Holy Mountin in Austin. On November 1, the series wraps up with Thundercat and Peanut Butter Wolf at One-Eyed Jack’s in New Orleans.
