Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, New Order's Bernard Sumner Set for Tibet House Benefit

The lineup for the 30th annual Tibet House US Benefit, curated by Philip Glass, has been announced. On March 16 at Carnegie Hall, Patti Smith and her band, Iggy Pop, New Order’s Bernard Sumner, Laurie Anderson, Phil Cunningham, Tom Chapman, and more will perform for the benefit’s 30th anniversary. Chuck Close, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard and Arden Wohl are the event’s Honorary Chairpersons. Proceeds from the benefit—which include ticket sales and special gala packages—all go to support the work of Tibet House US, a non-profit educational institution and cultural embassy founded to “ensure the survival of the unique Tibetan civilization.” Find out more information here.

Last year, FKA twigs, Iggy Pop, and the late Sharon Jones performed at the event. During the show, Iggy Pop covered David Bowie‘s “The Jean Genie” with members of the Patti Smith Group.
