Phoenix Announce First Show in 3 Years

Yesterday, Phoenix updated their various social media profiles, as well as their website, fueling speculation that the band are readying a new record. Today, the Spanish music festival Bilbao BBK Live announced new additions to its 2017 lineup, and Phoenix are among its headliners. The festival will mark the band’s first show since 2014 when they were touring behind Bankrupt! See a BBK Live poster below.

Bilbao BBK Live takes place July 6-8, 2017. In addition to Phoenix, the lineup (so far) includes Depeche Mode, Daphni, Die Antwoord, Andrew Weatherall, Two Door Cinema Club, DJ Tennis, Marvin & Guy, and Fleet Foxes. Like Phoenix, Fleet Foxes have been teasing a new record–the follow-up to 2011’s excellent Helplessness Blues. Frontman Robin Pecknold has been sharing snippets of new music from the recording process, and earlier this week, the band said their next album is “Alllllmost done.”
