Radiohead Share Teaser Videos: Watch

Over the weekend, Radiohead disappeared from the internet—their social media profile pictures went all white and all their posts were deleted. Their website gradually increased in opacity until it went away completely. Now that they’ve wiped their digital slate clean, they’ve shared their first missive—a brief teaser video on their new Instagram account. It’s a looping animated video of a bird chirping. Update (5/3, 2:06 a.m. ET): Radiohead fans on social media and Reddit have reported that the bird video intermittently appears on the band’s website. Find a screenshot of what it looks like on Dead Air Space below. Watch the clip below. Update (5/3 7:01 a.m.): They’ve shared a second teaser, accompanied by some music, via Instagram and their website. This one features a woman tied to a tree while men in masks perform a ritual—which adds up with the “Burn the Witch” postcards that UK fans received over the weekend. Scroll down to check it out.

Of course the visual isn’t much at the moment, but it’s another bit of movement from Radiohead after they scrubbed their digital footprint and apparently sent cryptic notes to fans in the UK.

In January, fans speculated that an album was imminent when it was revealed that the group had registered a new company, Dawn Chorus LLP, and established another entity called Dawnnchoruss Ltd. in February. The band also established companies before the surprise releases of In Rainbows and The King of Limbs. Radiohead will begin touring this month.
