Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool Back in Billboard Top 20

Upon its May release, Radiohead’s latest album A Moon Shaped Pool debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. It spent a considerable amount of time on the charts before eventually falling out of the 200. At the end of September, the band released the special deluxe edition of the album, which has now bumped AMSP back to No. 11 on the Billboard 200. The record sold 21,000 copies (19,000 on vinyl) in the most recent tracking frame, according to Billboard. Because of its vinyl sales success, AMSP is also now atop Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart–ahead of Bon Iver’s 22, A Million, which sits at No. 2.

Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool special deluxe edition includes the album on two heavyweight 12” vinyl records, 32 pages of artwork, and a 1/2” piece of master recording tape from one of the band’s various recording sessions over the years, dating back to Kid A. Recently, a fan took his piece of tape to a studio to figure out what 3/4-second snippet of audio he received. Thom Yorke and producer Nigel Godrich both acknowledged his efforts.
