Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” Overtakes the Chainsmokers, Hits No. 1 on Hot 100 Chart
Rae Sremmurd’s Gucci Mane-featuring track “Black Beatles” has overtaken the Chainsmokers’ “Closer” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ending the EDM duo’s 12-week run with the number one song. “Black Beatles” earned 144,000 downloads and 43.3 million streams last week, thanks in large part to the #MannequinChallenge meme. (Even Paul McCartney got in on the #MannequinChallenge action, making his own video to the sounds of the Rae Sremmurd song.)
“Black Beatles” appears on Rae Sremmurd’s most recent album, Sremmlife 2. Earlier this month, the Chainsmokers released a new EP called Collage.
