Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” Overtakes the Chainsmokers, Hits No. 1 on Hot 100 Chart

Rae Sremmurd’s Gucci Mane-featuring track “Black Beatles” has overtaken the Chainsmokers’ “Closer” on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, ending the EDM duo’s 12-week run with the number one song. “Black Beatles” earned 144,000 downloads and 43.3 million streams last week, thanks in large part to the #MannequinChallenge meme. (Even Paul McCartney got in on the #MannequinChallenge action, making his own video to the sounds of the Rae Sremmurd song.)

“Black Beatles” appears on Rae Sremmurd’s most recent album, Sremmlife 2Earlier this month, the Chainsmokers released a new EP called Collage.
