Rapper Accuses Lil Yachty of Stealing New Song “Peek A Boo”

Rapper Memphis Ash has claimed one of Lil Yachty’s new songs off Teenage Emotions isn’t an original. He and his legal team believe “Peek A Boo,” featuring Migos, lifts some verses and the hook from Memphis’ song “Pikachu.” That track came out last year. Listen to both below. Memphis’ lawyer Ben McLane originally served Yachty with a cease and desist, granting him 10 days to deliver any royalties from the song to Memphis, but he has not complied, according to TMZ. “I think it’s pretty obvious Yachty didn’t rip off this song,” a representative for Yachty told Pitchfork. “Memphis Ash does not own the rights to the phrase ‘peek a boo.’ It’s public domain!” Memphis’ lawyer plans to pursue the case, and wants “Peek A Boo” removed from all streaming services.
