Ray Davies Announces New Album Americana, Shares New Song “Poetry”: Listen

The Kinks’ Ray Davies has announced his new solo album. The 15-song set Americana is out April 21 via Legacy. It features the Jayhawks as Davies’ backing band and marks Davies’ first studio album of new material since 2008’s Working Man’s Cafe. Listen to a new song, “Poetry,” below via NPR. Americana follows Davies’ 2013 memoir of the same name and includes several spoken word samples from it. Davies is set to release a second album later this year.
